I am an Associate Professor at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), UK in the EEECS School and have associations with multiple centres in QUB, including the Centre for Intelligent and Sustainable Computing, Centre for Public Policy and Administration, and the Centre for Sustainability Equality and Climate Action, and an adjunct faculty member at Dept. of CSE, IIT Madras. I am also actively involved with Kerala Shasthra Sahithya Parishath, a Kerala-based People's Science Movement. Prior to my career as an academic, I was a Researcher in the Information Management Department at IBM Research - India at Bangalore, Karnataka, India. I completed my Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering at the Department of CSE at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. My advisors were Prof. Deepak Khemani and Dr. Sutanu Chakraborti. Prior to this, I completed my M.Tech and B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Madras and Model Engineering College respectively. I am currently a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Young Associate of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

My current research interests lie in the topic of analysing AI critically through the prism of critical political economy. I am particularly interested in understanding how AI is entangled with corporate power, and how it impacts society, with a focus on its influence on media and work. While my background has been in the technology of AI, my current interests lie in the intersection of AI and politics.

My works have been fortunate to have been selected for some honours such as the Indian National Academy of Engineers' Young Engineer Award (2015), Thanima Award for Malayalam Literature (2023), Kerala Science Literature Award (2024), and Kerala Sahithya Akademi Award (2024).
